Sens back in driver's seat

So we don't have cable, hence I am really freaking out about not being able to watch any of the great NHL action thus far in the playoffs. However, there are a few web resources that take the sting out of it ... just a little.

Number one, obviously, is the nhl.com web site. There you can watch highlight reels of all the goals, big hits, and great saves.

Number two is the Yahoo Sports NHL Playoffs page. Comprehensive, easy-to-read layout of all the playoff match ups updated just about in real time.

In other NHL playoff action:

San Jose Sharks right wing Steve Bernier (29) lays on the ice in the second period after he was knocked out by the Nashville Predators right wing Alexander Radulov (47) knocking Bernier out of the game and starting a fight with the rest of the players. Radulov was penzlized with a five-minute major for checking from behind and was given a game misconduct in a NHL hockey playoff game in Nashville, Tenn., Friday, April 13, 2007. Looks like this is quickly developing into a brutal battle that may go the distance.

New York Islanders' Ryan Smyth (94), upper right, and Mike Sillinger (18) celebrate the game-winner on Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, upper left, shot by Marc-Andre Bergeron (not shown) as Sabres' Toni Lydman (5), and Henrik Tallinder (10), look on during the third period of the NHL hockey playoff game at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y., Saturday, April 14, 2007. The Islanders got a split in Buffalo, which is just what they needed. They've got to be extremely pleased with themselves and need to keep it up in their building. Playing on the road will not intimidate this Buffalo team, however.

I just had to post this photo of Shanahan's Bobby Clarke-esque grin. The Rangers appear to be in control two games to none. And now they head home to the Garden.

Another tight series. I still say that Lecavalier and St. Louis are too much for the New Jersey defense.

People were saying that Calgary looked absolutely pathetic in game one. I don't think they have a chance.

Anaheim Ducks' Francois Beauchemin celebrates a goal by Andy McDonald in the first period against the Minnesota Wild in a first round NHL Western Conference quarterfinal hockey game Sunday, April 15, 2007 in St. Paul, Minn. (AP Photo/Jim Mone)

Had to post this one, as former Crunch player Beauchemin is featured prominently. Anaheim may be the first team to get an early rest, as they lead the series 3-0. All of the games have been one-goal affairs, but I do predict another Duck win in game four in Minnesota tomorrow night.

Vancouver Canucks players Alex Burrows, bottom, Jeff Cowan (20) and Lukas Krajicek (5) engage Dallas Stars players Steve Ott (29) and Trevor Daley (6) in a brawl in the first period of their NHL Western Conference Quarterfinal hockey game Sunday night April 15, 2007, in Dallas. Burrows, Ott, Daley and Cowan were penalized on the play. (AP Photo/Tim Sharp)

This is another series that looks like it will be a battle. Hmmmm. I say the Canucks will prevail in six.
